Water Bubble Partition for Drawing and Dining in Dehradun

Drawing and Dining Area Wooden Partition with Lights and Water

Doon Projects – Interior Designer and Construction company in DehradunGaurav Negi ji is doing very good construction work in Dehradun, he gave us partition work in a house which was being built on Haridwar road. This was a partition of the drawing and dining area, in which the client was demanding a very luxurious partition. And he also sent a sample image. This task was very difficult, but we took it up and started.

Its width was 12 feet and height was 10 feet. We made its entire structure in 12 mm thick ply and put .8 mm thick laminate over it. The entire work was done with Fevicol, no Heatex was used in it. Wasim bhai is a great carpenter, his own team has done this work. It took us more time to do this work as there was frequent leakage in the water body. But eventually the experiment became successful. Once hope was broken when the builder of the aquarium said that such a big box could not be made.

Water Body Partition with Air Bubble and Lights in Dehradun

But our never giving up team showed it by doing it, we made a box of 6 mm thick transparent acrylic sheet and attached it with chloroform. The upper part was fitted with COB lights, whose color was warm white. Whose color is visible in all the bubbles. The most difficult in this was the air pressure and the motor being silent, for that we used the air pressure pump installed in the aquarium and kept the motor above the water, then fitted the pipe from below using bubble stone. Due to which these bubbles come from below and the motor is also kept safe above.

You can see in the video how much satisfying work has been done, we really enjoyed doing this and got the courage to take up such challenges.

The Nine Trendiest Materials For Building Facades

Doon Projects – Interior Designer and Construction company in Dehradun.

Introduction

Have you ever noticed that your eye is drawn to the most exquisite home whenever you cross or walk past a street? Is it just the building’s size, shape, and structure that attracts you, or is it more? A facade’s appeal is enhanced by combining different materials in addition to the structural design.

This article summarizes the nine trendiest building materials for facades to choose from in 2022:

#1 ACP Panels

An Aluminum Composite Panel, popularly known as an ACP, is a flat panel display consisting of two thin sheets of aluminum bonded to a non-aluminum core. ACPs are commonly used for exterior coverings or building facades, signage, insulation, interiors, modular kitchen, etc. These modern-age panels come in various colors and textures, e.g., wood, stone, metals, 3D. This material provides more design freedom than other materials because it can be bent, folded, and shaped according to preferences.

ACPs consist of a polyethylene inner core with a 0.21mm thick aluminum laminate surface on both sides. ACPs are also available in 3mm thickness. These panels don’t need to be painted as the surface is treated with polyester. The treatment also makes them perfect for screen and digital printing. Sawn, CNC-machined, drilled, or fabricated, these sheets can be used in various ways.

Reasons to choose Aluminum Composite Panels:

  1. These panels are resistant to high temperatures, making them ideal for indoor and outdoor use.
  2. The combined water and air barrier in these panels increase the structural value.
  3. They are lightweight, durable, and rigid, offering a high load performance.
  4. When using these panels, less material is required for the construction.
  5. The construction process becomes more manageable with ACPs as these panels are removable, allowing a smooth and convenient building renovation.
  6. These panels require low maintenance and stay in good condition without spending extra money.

#2 High-Pressure Laminates

High-Pressure Laminates, commonly known as HPL, are fabricated timber made of thin sheets of substrate boards or wood veneer. It is considered one of the most long-lasting decorative exterior materials and has unique performance properties, including fire, chemical, and wear resistance. Architects and designers prefer HPL panels due to their various colors, patterns, realistic wood design, and metallic look. They are widely used in facade cladding, balcony Casing, fencing, partitions, railings, louvers, duct covering, signage, framing, roofing, soffits, etc.

HPL is similar to plywood, except it has a plastic protective layer on one or both sides. The manufacturing process involves simultaneously applying high pressure and heat to layers of cellulose, which are impregnated with thermosetting resins. Available in 6, 8 & 10mm of thickness, they have an extremely effective weather protective coating of double-hardened acrylic polyurethane resins.

Reasons to choose High-Pressure Laminates:

  1. They are resistant to bending and mechanical damages and have a high impact and excellent tensile strength.
  2. These laminates are also resistant to abrasion. Abrasion has almost no effect on this material.
  3. They do not absorb water or moisture. (the ratio of the weight of water absorbed by the material to the weight of the dry material immersed in water at 65 °C for 48 hours is 1%)
  4. Highly resistant to organic solvents and chemically aggressive environments.
  5. The non-porous and highly dense structure prevents dirt from penetrating the panel and microorganisms from multiplying.

#3 Stone Cladding

Stone cladding is one of the most widely used materials in building facades. It is a thin layer of natural or faux stone applied to a structure of a material other than stone. These sheets come in various colors and materials, mostly granite, sandstone, and slate. According to the building’s design, Stone cladding is usually applied to concrete and steel structures. It is affixed to the wall using a mortar mix. They have effortlessly replaced the use of tiles in building facades.

The natural stones are quarried and cut into thin pieces to create stone cladding. According to usage, the stone pieces are further attached to various bases, namely, stud timber frames, waterproof sheeting barriers, fiber cement sheets, metal mesh, and a coat of mortar. They come in various thicknesses ranging from 8-15mm. They are not load-bearing materials. Natural stone cladding is comparatively heavier and must be mechanically fixed to adhere to the substrate.

Reasons to choose Stone Cladding:

  1. Natural Stone is an eco-friendly material.
  2. Stone cladding is very easy to install, saving a lot of time and hassle.
  3. It is aesthetically appealing as it looks like a natural stone.
  4. Natural stones like slate and granite are solid and waterproof.
  5. Being lighter, they can be used on any wall without worrying about extra support.
  6. Stone cladding is comparatively cheaper than natural stones.
  7. It is also a fantastic way to protect the walls by adding an extra barrier.

#4 Wood-Plastic Composites:

Wood-plastic Composites, often referred to as WPC, are made by extensively mixing ground wood particles and heated thermoplastic resins. Extrusion is the most common production method, although injection molding is also used. With hard-wearing properties, WPC panels are available in a variety of textured wood colors to mimic the wood’s natural grain. Considered one of the best exterior materials, they offer a maintenance-free solution while adding an attractive natural or solid wood look to the facade.

WPC boards are comparatively economical, do not require painting or sealing, are easy to maintain, UV stable, fade-resistant, and long-lasting. The thickness of these boards ranges from 9 mm to 300 mm. The easy assembling process and quick installation help minimize the overall recurring cost.

Reasons to choose Wood-Plastic Composites:

  • Suitable for all weather conditions, especially in humid, high-moisture environments.
  • It has high impact and tensile strength.
  • It has a high load-bearing capacity.
  • It is an environment-friendly board as it can be recycled after use. It also has green environmental protection features, which contribute to sustainable development.
  • It’s a one-time investment, an initial cost can be costly, but it is good for the long term.

#5 Metal

The use of Metal in the facade of a building has recently increased. Metals emphasize the features of a facade and harmonize perfectly with other materials. Metals can also be used as decorative elements or structural components in buildings as they can be easily bent and adjusted to detailed designs. Many project-specific factors impact the material selection, including climatic conditions, structural system, other material choices, aesthetics, and budget. Metal can be used on an entire building’s exterior or specific portions to give it a contrasted look.

Metals can be used in various forms such as wire mesh, cladding, bars, rods, rafters, and shades and come in different textures, colors, designs, shapes, and sizes and can be customized according to one’s preference. The most common material options are galvanized steel, aluminum, stainless steel, mild steel, zinc, copper, titanium, etc. Various treatments are performed before these metals are used to prevent corrosion and deformation.

Reasons to choose Metal:

  • As an environmentally friendly element, metal minimizes energy consumption, promotes sustainability, and reduces the number of carbon footprints in the environment.
  • Because of its recyclability, it can also minimize resource scarcity.
  • It is also one of the most durable materials as it hardly gets affected by external factors, has a strong surface, does not get damaged easily, and can go on for years without the need for repair.
  • The metal claddings are resistant to corrosion, water damage, and electrochemical reactions.
  • Metal cladding is easy to install as it is lightweight and larger, allowing a vast area to be covered in no time. With the specialized fastening systems, there is no need for extensive labor.
  • It’s a budget-friendly solution as it involves fewer labor costs and requires less maintenance. It can help lower the overall costs of the structure.

#6 Glass

The use of glass has been prevalent in building facades from ancient times. It has always been a common material for windows. Today, with the evolution of architecture and design, glass is used in various forms; the newest is in the form of a curtain wall. A curtain wall generally consists of vertical and horizontal aluminum members. The aluminum frame supports the glass and gives a visually appealing look to the building.

Glass commonly used for glazing comes in an endless variety of colors, thicknesses, and opacity. In most facades, you will find a float, sheet, patterned, wired, insulating, laminated, toughened, and decorative glass. Here’s a brief description of each:

  • Float glass: It is the most common glass. It is monolithic and transparent with excellent optical quality, thickness uniformity, flatness, and resistance to chemical reactions. Float glass is manufactured in two varieties: clear and tinted, and is mainly used in doors, windows, stairs, and partitions. The thicknesses range from 2-19 mm.
  • Sheet glass: It is commonly used for windows and large-sized doors in facades. The actual color of this glass is green (sometimes blue). Sheet glass is manufactured in three variants: annealed flat glass, processed flat glass, misc. glass. The thicknesses range from 2-19 mm.
  • Patterned glass: It is often referred to as figure or rolled glass. The glass is translucent as it has patterns or textures embossed on one or both sides. The surface’s patterned decorative design offers light transmission and a certain level of obscurity. The thicknesses range from 4 mm to 6 mm.
  • Wired glass: It is inlaid with a twisted hexagonal wire braid or mesh during the rolling process. If broken, the metal mesh holds the glass together and is also known for its flame retardant properties. It can be patterned, ground, and polished. It is primarily used in skylights, lighting roofs, fire-proof doors, and windows. The thicknesses range from 5 to 7 mm.
  • Insulating glass:  The insulated coated glass prevents heat loss by reflecting heat from the building. Assembled in double or triple glazing, it is available in three variants: heat-absorbing glass, heat-reflecting glass, and hollow glass with decorative, heat preservation, and insulation properties. The glass contributes directly to energy savings and living comfort. It is mainly used in windows, doors, and curtain walls. The thicknesses range from 3 to 10 mm.
  • Laminated Glass: Also known as safety glass, it consists of multiple sheets of glass separated by one or more plastic films. The pieces stick to the film if they break. It may withstand gunshots and explosions and prevent falling out of the window with a suitable composition. The glass has good transparency, and its impact resistance is higher than ordinary flat glass. It has a UV filter function and is preferably used in windows, doors, skylights, partitions, and house facades. The thicknesses range from 4 to 12 mm.
  • Toughened Glass: It is one of the most potent glasses made by heat treatment. Its excellent physical and thermal shock resistance makes it five times stronger than ordinary glass. When broken, toughened glass shatters into many small, non-sharp pieces that help prevent injuries. It is mainly used in facades, doors, windows, skylights, handrails, and balustrades. The thicknesses range from 4 to 12 mm.

Reasons to choose Glass:

  • Glass transmits, absorbs, and refracts light. Since it can be both translucent and transparent, it helps improve the look of your building.
  • It is weather-resistant and can efficiently withstand the adverse effects of rain, wind, and sun without losing its form and appearance.
  • Unaffected by weathering, clouding, or yellowing, glass can transmit 80% of daylight in all directions.
  • It is energy-efficient and economical. Glass saves energy by allowing natural light and the overall electricity bill cost.
  • Being a rust-resistant material, it doesn’t get degraded by chemicals and the surrounding environmental conditions.

#7 Exposed brick wall

The exposed brick wall is a timeless investment; it never goes out of style. Bricks in their raw form have been used for construction in many civilizations around the world for years. There are two ways of giving your facade an exposed brick look, one brick cladding (brick veneer) and the second solid brick facade (leaving the bricks as they are).

Brick cladding is a layer of brick fixed to the walls of a building. It provides the same look and also protects the building. Whereas properly treated, quarried, and uniform first-class bricks make a facade out of solid brick walls. Different masonry joints arranged in artistic ways add aesthetics and strengthen the structure.

Reasons to choose brick wall:

  • Easy to maintain and cost-effective.
  • Add texture and give the facade a rustic look, making the design attractive.
  • Help reduce pollution caused by the manufacture of the extra material used.
  • Quality bricks reduce materials’ overall cost and usage, including plaster, paint, etc.

#8 Marble

You must have noticed that the use of marble stone has been prominent in historic buildings. It offers a sense of luxury through its brilliance and composition. There are several ways to cover facades with marble since the stone has different shades of color and shapes. Due to its versatility, marble can fit into any style of decoration.

Nowadays, marble stone cladding is used in building facades in two techniques: ventilated and glued facades. During ventilated facade installation, thin marble slabs are attached using separate metal structures, creating a gap between the building and the outside cladding to help insulate the building. While in the glued facade, the marble slabs are glued directly to the wall. It is a cost-effective method and also improves the weight of the facade.

Reasons to choose Marble:

  • It offers superior heat resistance
  • It is fade-resistant and remains beautiful for a long time.
  • Its smooth surface reflects the light brilliantly.
  • The use of marble increases the value of the property over time.
  • Marble is relatively long-lasting compared to other materials.
  • Its weather-resistant properties help it to stay the same for years.

#9 Corian stone

Corian stone has grown in popularity in recent years, particularly when it comes to building facades. Its application provides radiance and elegance to any building. It is an engineered stone composed of acrylic polymer and aluminum trihydrate (ATH), a material extracted from bauxite ore. It comes in different colors, patterns, textures, finishes, and types.

The USP of Corian stone is that it can be easily fabricated. Different surface treatments, such as engraving, layering, and CNC cutting, can be used to create intricate designs. A semi-translucent version of this stone makes it an attractive choice for making facades since new designs can be created that incorporate backlighting. The stone is available in three thicknesses: 6 mm, 12 mm, and 19 mm.

Reasons to choose Curian stone:

  • It is non-porous, which helps to protect your structure from dampness.
  • It has outstanding impact resistance.
  • It is stain resistant, easy to maintain, and easy to clean.
  • It is lightweight and reduces the structural load.
  • It has a seamless appearance; the joints are almost invisible.
  • It is a renewable stone, and cuts and scratches can be evened out easily.
  • Easily engineered. It can be cut and carved into various designs. When heated, it can be shaped and molded into indefinite shapes.
  • It is long-lasting, resistant to weather, heat, fade, chemicals, detergents, pollutants, and fungi.

Bhagwan Mahavir Swami Pooja Mandir for Home

Doon Projects – Interior Designer and Construction company in DehradunWe have designed the interiors of all kinds of temples in Dehradun, but this job was very special. In this we built a very big temple for Mr. Sarthak Jain Ji (GMS Road) whose size was 5 feet wide and 8 feet high with Side Partition 8ft by 3ft. It was necessary to make a partition according to the place, it was used in the temple drawing room along with the partition. Depth of mandir is 18 inches. It was finished in a complete high gloss finish and also used Duco color on it. The work came out very well, you can see in the video.

Wasim Bhai, who is our carpenter, put his life into this, the whole temple is made of machine, everything is made by cutting and joining together by machine. You can see how good the finishing is. In this we used MDF board for the CNC jali work and used Asian Paints paint over it. We have used Advance Brand laminate .8mm in this mandir.

It took us 10 days to build this complete temple. The client who put the most slab in it later increased the size, due to which it got a little more late. The design of the partition was very nice in this. We are very happy that Sarthak ji liked the temple. And we also enjoyed doing this work.

Then we gave them a wall partition which was 8 feet high and 7 feet wide. We kept its depth at 8 inches. For this we used the board of the century. And we have used .8mm thick laminate in wooden matte finish.

In this we used tuffen glass whose thickness was 10 mm then also applied eco printed vinyl sticker on it. It took about a week to complete this work and the look of his drawing room was completely changed. The party also wanted us to do the work of TV panels and sofas, but our rates were a bit high. Our cost is little high because we don’t compromise with quality.

We charged Rs. 12500 for Tiles, Rs. 10,000 for Paint and Rs. 35,000 for Partition work. The client was happy that was the biggest achievement.

Polycarbonate Shed / Pergola in Dehradun

Frosted Polycarbonate Pergola with Wooden Paint

Doon Projects – Interior Designer and Construction company in DehradunWe did interior and renovation work in Shivlok Colony which is located on Raipur Road in Dehradun. There was an old shed there, which we removed and installed a polycarbonate sheet (Transparent polycarbonates allow the most light to pass through, which is thus considered the best where maximum light is needed. Other colours reduce light transmission to certain extents – the darker the colour gets, the lower the percentage of light transmission.) source. We improved the framing for which we used 3×1.5 inch APL Apollo Hollow Pipes which weighs 12kg. Its price at that time was Rs. 94 per kg and it was of 18 guage. We used the old framing pipes for the new framing. The grid made in this was kept 3 feet x 5 feet. In this teakwood color of Asian Paints was done after red oxide.

The best thing happened in this that you can see the direct sun from under it and the temperature inside has reduced by 2 degrees. Had the tuffen glass been applied, the heat would transfer completely. In this the slope is given more than 3 inches because in such a large grid the sheet swings slightly which is not visible as such. In this, the thickness of the sheet was kept 3mm, this entire roll comes 4ft, which was priced at Rs 120 per square feet at that time (Vendor: Kwality Hardware Dehradun).

We had a lot of desire to build a Corian temple but its cost is high, so the design and cost were not getting approved quickly. And perhaps we did not even have any sample of our own, due to which he was not getting the confidence to talk.

Now in January 2022 we built our first Corian temple for a client Sandeep Chauhan ji living on a Shimla bye pass. They got a lot of work done by the builder itself but for some things like temple, dressing table, kitchen door mouldings, led panel they got it made by our company.

We gave them the best work and that too at very reasonable prices. He was given the temple for just Rs 35000, whose size was also 7 feet in height and 3 feet in width. 12mm thickness Korean stone was used in the temple, which was engraved with cnc machine. The detailing is very good, the client also liked the temple magnificent.

In this we have used led module for light which does not deteriorate quickly. Pillars and arches could also be given in the temple, but according to its placement, it has been given a complete modern look. If you also want something similar then you can call us.

Thank You!

Smart Homes With Artificial Intelligence And Internet Of Things in Uttarakhand

Doon Projects – Interior Designer and Construction company in Dehradun.

“There is nothing more important than a good, safe, and a secure home.” – Rosalynn Carter.

Dehradun: As you look around, you will see that we are surrounded by technology. Everything results from technological advancement from smartphones to computers, electronic gadgets, appliances, recording devices, and digital cameras. Today, technology affects nearly every aspect of life: communication, safety, transportation, socialization, health checkups, accounting, etc.

Home Automation in Dehradun

While technology is being used efficiently across the board, why not bring it to your home and make life easier and safer. As the world moves fast, people have turned to Smart home technology with AI (artificial intelligence) and the IoT (internet of things) for better management. This article will highlight all of the features and help you learn more about Smart Homes.

Concept of Smart Homes

Smart homes are characterized by the automatic control of all devices through an Internet connection at any given time remotely using a mobile phone or any other networked device. All the devices are interconnected via the internet and help users control functions like lighting, temperature, home theater, security access, cameras, television, appliances, and many more.

It is possible to create Smart Homes using wireless or hardwired technology. The devices are controlled by one home automation system and accessed through a primary source; a mobile phone, tablet, or laptop. Furthermore, a voice-controlled system is also available for handling gadgets and appliances.

Benefits of Smart Homes

We all want comfort and luxury in this fast-paced world. However, how can we achieve it? The easiest way is to opt for a Smart Home. Imagine entering a warm house in the cold winter. The temperature adjusted accordingly before you even reached it. All the devices respond to your command, and the lights are turned on as soon as you enter. Wouldn’t it make you feel good?

The list mentions the top four benefits of choosing Smart Home technology over regular one:

Interactivity: The best feature of a smart home is the excellent networking of all the devices. With excellent interconnectivity, you can seamlessly manage and monitor all connected devices from one primary device. By utilizing various available technological features, you can customize your device’s functionality to fit your needs. It helps you work more efficiently, increases the home’s productivity, and saves you a lot of time.

Remote Access: Remote access to your entire home is a real treat.

You can operate the device from anywhere. It allows you to control and keep a check on coexistent activities in your home. Countless features help you to manage your home effortlessly from one place. You just have to learn how to use an app on your smartphone and tablet.

Energy Conservation: Smart Home Technology can be helpful to you and the environment at the same time. Motion sensor devices save a lot of energy by turning on and off automatically when not in use. E.g., The temperature of your home can be adjusted using a smart thermostat, and lights can be programmed to turn on and off as the sun sets and rises. This saves a lot of energy and also lowers the electricity bill.

High Security: Nowadays, safety is a major concern. Leaving the kids and the elderly at home makes us constantly worry about their welfare. With smart home devices, you can easily monitor various activities inside your home. Moreover, you can also control the devices from anywhere. For instance, you can lock the doors with one tap; on the other hand, if you left the iron on or any other appliance on, you can also switch it off. Moreover, the system also alerts you when your home leaks or floods in real-time.

Available Technology in India

India is one of the fastest developing countries and has shown tremendous growth in science and technology. With the evolution of technology, Smart Homes are more prevalent than ever. Mentioned are the top three technologies available in India:

  • Wi-Fi Mesh Technology: This technology connects multiple IoT devices and offers smooth functionality without interruptions. It provides maximum coverage, ensuring that every device is well connected regardless of its location.
  • Smart Wi-Fi Technology: This technology enables the devices to communicate directly with the installed apps. Since Wi-Fi technology is integrated into smart products, it has become more convenient to install and use them effectively.
  • Voice Assistant Technology: This technology helps you control the devices using voice controls. It enables you to talk to smart devices, which in turn respond to your command. Examples include Alexa, Google Assistant, Siri, etc.

Major Devices and Their Features

What makes an ordinary home a Smart Home? The answer is its exceptional devices with smart technology. Today, there are a variety of devices available to control every part of your home. All of these devices are equipped with outstanding features to help streamline your day-to-day life. They have automatic controllers and sensors to adjust according to your command and environment. With these devices, you can stream your favorite music, lock the doors, clean your house and do more such activities without touching anything. They are installed in a home according to one’s needs. Here is a list of some widely used devices:

  • Home Automation Controllers
  • Lighting & bulb

Budget Pooja Mandir Designed for Mr. Girish Gaur in Dehradun

Doon Projects – Interior Designer and Construction company in DehradunGirish Gaur ji has bought a house in Superia Apartment, a very luxurious apartment. They came to our shop for the temple but could not finalize what to make, only then a temple was being built for a client from Karnataka. We sent his video to Girish ji and said that sir such a temple can be built. If you say, we will do it. You can see in the video below what kind of temple it was.

When we sent the video of the temple, they immediately ordered and the size was fixed at 5 feet height and 3 feet width. If he had to keep a temple in his drawing room, then it was also to be seen that if it is not visible directly from outside, then the door will also have to be given.

Ghanshyam ji who is our designer made a very good design and got the design of the door finalized. We made a temple in just 3 days’ time and sent it to his house and got it fixed too. You can see in the image below what kind of temple we built.

We used ply board to make this temple. After that, whatever laminate was applied, it was .8mm of SF9089 Advance Company. In this, the door was made by putting laminate on both sides on 25mm thick MDF of Action Company. For the light that has been installed in it, a gap of 4 inches has been given at the back, in which 4 tube lights have been installed by the Philips company. Both the channels are from Hettich and Hinges is from Godrej.

The temple was safely delivered within the stipulated time and was highly appreciated by the client, which makes us very happy. If you also want to get any furniture item made by us, then you can call us on the number given below.
